The dynamic interplay between genome structure and functions as cells change their fate during nuclear reprogramming or differentiation is fundamental to our realizing the full potential of pluripotent stem cells. We use genomic and epigenomic approaches to dissect the effect of genome structural re-organization on genomic variations, gene expression, and disease pathogenesis. Part of the study involves generation and characterization of induced pluripotent stem cells from patients with various deficiencies in DNA damage response and repair pathways.
